The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has cautioned corps members against the negative use of social media.
He warned that posts that damage the scheme’s or Nigeria’s image will attract sanctions.

The DG delivered the warning while addressing members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Delta State on Friday.
Nafiu urged the corps members to use their platforms to create content that will positively project both the scheme’s and Nigeria’s image, rather than engaging in negative activities.
In addition to the social media warning, he reminded the corps members of critical regulations guiding their service year.
He stressed the need to avoid unauthorised journeys, follow simple instructions and be obedient, go for biometrics and attend Community Development Service (CDS), learn and respect the cultural values of their host communities and avoid misrepresenting the Scheme at their places of primary assignment.
Earlier, the state NYSC Coordinator, John Kwaghe presented the camp situation report to the DG.
He confirmed that a total of 2,101 corps members, 944 male and 1,157 female, were deployed to the state in the new batch.
