Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Bago, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bolstering security agencies and other federal parastatals operating in the state, emphasising the need for enhanced collaboration to foster development and safety.
In a statement issued by the governor’s office, Bago urged the agencies to deepen their partnership with the state government, highlighting collaboration as essential for effective governance.
Bago encouraged officials to improve their maintenance practices, noting that his administration has invested significantly to streamline their operations and enhance efficiency.
The governor’s remarks were made during a courtesy visit by top officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
The delegation included ACG Anthony Emeka Chikezie, Zonal Coordinator of NIS Zone D; Comptroller Gado Ibrahim of NIS Niger State Command; State Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye of NSCDC; State Sector Commander Aishat Sa’ad of FRSC; and State Coordinator Aisha Yahaya Muhammad of NIMC.
The officials commended Bago’s developmental initiatives, describing him as a “farmer Governor” whose strides across economic sectors have repositioned Niger State for greatness.
They praised the tangible support extended to federal agencies and appealed for additional assistance, particularly in logistics, to improve their service delivery.
In return, the visitors assured the governor of their unwavering commitment to his administration’s goals.
Bago’s pledge aligns with his broader agenda to promote inclusive growth, leveraging agriculture and infrastructure to address security challenges in the North-Central region.
