The world richest man, Elon Musk, mostly reputed for his electric cars and microblogging site, X (formerly known as Twitter) is at it again. This time he has, through his company, Neuralink invented a device that will enable those who have lost their eyes and optic nerve to see again.
The device called Blindsight will also enable those who are blind from birth to see for the very first time.
The business mogul announced this on Tuesday on his social media platform.
The device will enable even those who have lost both eyes and optic nerves to see.
He wrote ”Blindsight, provided the visual cortex is intact, will enable those who have been blind from birth to see for the first time.
”To set expectations correctly, the vision will be at first be low resolution, like Atari graphics, but eventually it has the potential be better than natural vision and enable you to see in infrared, ultraviolet or even radar wavelengths, like Geordi La Forge.”
