President Bola Tinubu has made key appointments, appointing Dr. Mohammed Aminu as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).
Dr. Aminu, who holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
The President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the appointment in a statement released on Tuesday, March 11.
With 28 years of professional experience spanning teaching, administration, research, and policy development, Dr. Aminu is well-equipped to lead NABTEB.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
In his new role, President Tinubu has encouraged Dr. Aminu to utilise his extensive experience to bring about transformational leadership within NABTEB.
The President stressed the importance of the agency in assessing and certifying skilled human resources, which are crucial for Nigeria’s industrial growth.
In addition to Dr. Aminu’s appointment, President Tinubu also announced the appointment of Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board.
Mr. Olorunnimbe, a renowned leader in youth empowerment and education, has spent years driving innovative initiatives in the fields of education, entertainment, and sports.
As the founder and Group CEO of The Temple Company, established in 2016, he has led transformative programmes aimed at improving the lives of young people across the country.
Furthermore, Mr. Rasaq Olajuwon has been named UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical), while Mr. Tunde Ajibulu will serve as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).
Mr. Olajuwon previously served as the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency.
President Tinubu has called on the newly appointed UBEC leaders to focus on strengthening human capital and improving service delivery within the education sector.
Their efforts, he said, should contribute to educational reforms and ensure better access to quality basic education across Nigeria.
These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to driving transformative leadership in key sectors, aiming to improve Nigeria’s industrial and educational development.
