The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB) has extended the deadline for the payment of the 2025 Hajj fare from January 31 to February 10, 2025.
LSMPWB said the decision aligns with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Announcing the development in a statement yesterday, the Board Secretary, Saheed Onipede said the extension was granted following a virtual meeting between NAHCON, State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, and other stakeholders.
Onipede added that the meeting considered appeals from intending pilgrims who were unable to complete their registration before the initial deadline.
He urged affected pilgrims to take advantage of the extension to pay the required sum of ₦8,784,085.59 before the new deadline.

He also noted that intending pilgrims who can afford the fare, excluding the $500 Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), are encouraged to proceed with their payment while making separate arrangements for their BTA.
Onipede emphasised that the extension would provide more Muslim faithful with the opportunity to fulfil their religious obligation in Saudi Arabia.

He congratulated those who had completed their payment and submitted the necessary documents.
He urged others to finalize their registration by obtaining a bank draft in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and submitting it along with their completed forms and valid international passports before the deadline.
He reassured intending pilgrims that the Lagos State government, under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, remains committed to their welfare and comfort, ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience.
