Governors of Northern states under the aegis of Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and traditional rulers in the region are meeting to address the ongoing blackout in the Northern region and other critical challenges affecting the zone, including security concerns, economic issues, and sustainable development priorities.
NSGF Chairman, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, disclosed the joint meeting that is ongoing in Kaduna.
Yahaya, who is Gombe State governor said the meeting is focused on charting a unified agenda to enhance regional cooperation and development, leveraging the North’s resources to promote long-term growth.
According to a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe, the NSGF has been engaging with stakeholders across multiple sectors to implement actionable strategies for addressing security concerns, which are disrupting agricultural productivity and driving up food prices in the region.
