President Bola Tinubu on his birthday has urged Nigerians to work together for the country’s progress while acknowledging that the Middle East crisis has caused setbacks for national reforms.
Tinubu made these remarks on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in a statement on his official X handle.
His remarks serve as a message to the nation to mark his 74th birthday.
The President expressed his gratitude to citizens for their prayers, messages, and support since he took office.
He specifically thanked his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind words.

Reflecting on his time in office, President noted that his administration’s reforms have faced difficulties.
He pointed out that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has created a “temporary setback” for Nigeria’s economic goals.
However, he told the public that the sacrifices made by Nigerians are starting to show results.
He said, “I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel.”
President insisted that the progress made so far is a result of collective effort.
He noted that the credit for any positive change belongs to all Nigerians and his “Renewed Hope” team, rather than himself alone.

He urged the people to remain patriotic and united.
He stated that with continued support, the government would build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
